Chaste austerity
unpolluted mind:
nectared sweets

Shaking dewy wings
birds are singing:
poetic heat

Sacred haiku in my heart
shining in every tear:
sweetest savior is not coming

Thy Word is all in all
my muse is Jesus:
my love is second coming

Let my haiku shine
in the lustre of Thy light:
the dawn begins

Monks bring the Gospel
to the farthest corners:
the spring appears

Contemplative convent;
tremendous power
through Christ's unjust death

Laconic cryptic haiku
poetic shorthand:
literary carpentary

Devil anon left
to set snares
to kill rabbits

full-throated joy:
haiku gathering itself
for the final leap

Bloggers Community Spenser’s masterpiece Fairy Queen is an exraordinary allegory. Dryden aptly remarks about Spenser: “ No man was ever born with a greater genius or more knowledge to support it”. He has been rightly described as the ‘poets’ poet’ as Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Shelley, Keats, Tennyson, the Pre-Raphaelites, and other numberless poets were immensely influenced by him.
