The Story of True Friendship
In the postmodern world afflicted with suspicion, hatred and violence, it seems  to be almost impossible to find a true friend. Charles Lamb aptly says: “Tis the privilege of friendship to talk nonsense, and to have her nonsense respected.” The fact is that an ideal friend extends our personality, accepts our faults and allows us to develop our individuality. True friend always inspires us.
One of the finest examples of true friendship is companionship among William Wordsworth, his sister Dorothy and Coleridge. This had a tremendous impact on their poetry., and inspired the publication of Lyrical Ballads. Shakespeare very wisely says about true spirit of friendship: "A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”
"Some people go to priests, others to poetry, I to my friends." -Virginia Woolf
