Santosh Kumar: Santosh Kumar (b. 1946) is a poet, short-story writer and an editor from UP India; DPhil in English; member of World Poets Society (W.P.S.); member of World Haiku Association, Japan; presented papers in the seminar at Oslo, Norway in September 2008; read his poetry in Lithuania 2009. He has also edited sixteen World Poetry Anthologies, and four books of World’s Great Short Stories. The Largest Battle

"The Battle of Stalingrad (23 August 1942 – 2 February 1943) the largest confrontation of World War II , in which Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd ) in Southern Russia . Marked by fierce close quarters combat and direct assaults on civilians in air raids , it was the largest (nearly 2.2 million personnel) and bloodiest (1.8–2 million killed, wounded or captured) battle in the history of warfare". What a tragedy! About 2 million people were killed in the Stalingrad Battle. Nobody cared to follow the sacred Commandments.Everybody was indifferent to the ancient prophets of peace and brotherhood. Human nature has not changed at all. The dark ominous clouds of The World War 3 'hover through the fog and filthy air', and the World War may break out any moment if we fail to love one another. Leaves of Grass

Many critics criticize Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass. The Boston Intelligencer condemned his poetry as full of “bombast, egotism, vulgarity and nonsense". A few critics wanted Whitman to be punished. He deserves “the lash for such a violation of decency”. It is beyond comprehension why some of the critics called Leaves of Grass a dirty book. We should remember that both R.W. Emerson and Thoreau admired his poetry. Thoreau aptly remarked: “He has spoken more truth than any American or modern that I know. I have found his poem exhilarating, encouraging.” Take for example the following lines: I know that the hand of God is the promise of my own, And I know that the spirit of God is the brother of my own, And that all the men ever born are also my brothers, and the women my sisters and lovers, And that a kelson of the creation is love. Pain Killers Harmful

A common misperception is that using lot of pain killers and medicine is not detrimental at all for our health. In fact, if we take pain killers on a regular basis, it is very harmful. We should analyse if it is okay. The truth is that pain medicines like paracetemol and codeine make us addictive and dependenent upon them. There are several good alternatives. Pain killers might give you only temporary relief, but they will have side effects too. Pain killer kills the symptom, but fails to cure the cause. The most famous novels by Jane Austen, one of the greatest novelists in the world of literature, are Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Northanger abbey, Mansfield Park, Emma, and Persuasion. Danoski's 'Mansion of Madness' (SHOCK WAVES:Letters from the Edge Published by Vantage Press, New York, 1987, pp. 55, $6.95 ISBN 0-533-07281-6, Hardback) Shock Waves: Letters From The Edge is Joseph V. Danoski’s first collection of poems, under his pen name, Jonathan Konrad. The poems reveal ‘the strange and inverted world’ of Danoski, ‘poet of the nuclear age’.
