God is our fortress

 Free from deceit and hostility

 placed in paradise

we gaze upwards to receive glories

beasts of violence

powerless to trap humble warrior of prayer

all love and peace is here

east to west we see thy light

river chants thy name day and night

as the lord directs our path

Edmund Spenser's Pictorial Power

Bloggers Community Spenser’s masterpiece Fairy Queen is an exraordinary allegory. Dryden aptly remarks about Spenser: “ No man was ever born with a greater genius or more knowledge to support it”.
