Safe from darkness


 violence follows violence with wild cruelty

all abandoned to darkness and sorrow

through god we find enemy of truth and justice

so much fighting blood shed

angel fails to smile again

help us, save us, please

the sun and the heaven love a lover

love thy neighbor as thyself

or we must perish

Edmund Spenser's Pictorial Power

Bloggers Community Spenser’s masterpiece Fairy Queen is an exraordinary allegory. Dryden aptly remarks about Spenser: “ No man was ever born with a greater genius or more knowledge to support it”.
