Postmodern Confusion about Santa

Postmodern Confusion about Santa

Several skeptics comment that Santa is merely a creation of wild imagination. They doubt his existence and add that no reindeer can ever fly. It is also said that it is not possible for anyone to distribute toys and other gifts to the the millions of Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Jewish and Buddhist children all over the world on Christmas Eve. According to a calculation, Santa’s sleigh will have to move “650 miles persecond-3000 times the speed of sound.”

The confused postmodern world should realize that by prayer to God great miracles take place. God grants us power to tread on serpents and scorpions. “ None but He can raise up the dead and quicken them / None but He can feed the five thousand with five loaves / None but He provides manna in the desert.”

The best thing is to fill our heart and soul with the spirit of giving charity. That seems to be the essence of Santa's gifting toys to the children. It is very good if we remember the following words of wisdom:

"I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys."
- Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol"

Faith in the Almighty Lord creates love, peace, brotherhood, inner joy, patience, humbleness, righteousness, kindness, and self-restraint.These good qualities alone can protect our world "where ignorant armies clash by night".
