Piety and Peace

Piety and Peace

1.

Smiling spring in
Loveliest village:
I am in Thy hand
Do with me
As Thou pleaseth:
Piety and Peace

2.

Loving Thee alone
Above all feeling
I hear distant echoes
Pining for wings of freedom
To fly toward Thee
Again and yet again

3.

I would pray and pray
Till Thy Grace returns
Happy is the person
Who hears God speaking
This is Eden's first bloom
Life is too short
To sing all thy praise
Softest linen from India
I offer at The Hill of Crosses
