Some Interesting Facts about the Mobile Phones
It was a great astonishment for me as I used the mobile or cell phone for the first time in my life. A moble phone besides serving as a telephone provides other useful sevices also such as SMS (or text) messages, email, Internet access, gaming, Bluetooth, infrared, camera, MMS messaging, MP3 player, radio and GPS also. This is wonderful.

By the end of 2009, the number of mobile cellular subscriptions worldwide reached approximately 4.6 billion, and it is increasing day by day. In the developing countries like India, even extremely poor people use the moble phone. In fact, as compared to TV, the cellular phone developed very fast due to its easy access and portability for various functions like sending and receiving emails, calculator, internet, playing games, videos.
The mobile phones require a Subscriber Identity Module or SIM Card. This is used to identify a subscriber.
In mobile phone handsets, in Q3/2009, Nokia was the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones, with a global device market share of 37.8%, followed by Samsung (21.0%), LG Electronics (11.0%), Sony Ericsson (4.9%) and Motorola (4.7%). An important question is the effect on our health by radiation caused by the cellular phone. According to World Health Organization, cancer is unlikely to be caused by cellular phones or their base stations and that reviews have found no convincing evidence for other health effects. The children should be allowed to make only a moderate use of the cellular phone.
